This page is dedicated to the beautiful sites and great attractions of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, we are lucky to live in such a peaceful area and close to two towns, one being Carmarthen- the oldest market town in Wales and rumoured to be the homeland of Merlin! Brechfa
The Gorlech Trail, designed by Rowan Sorrell, is made up of three big climbs and descents stretching over its 19km.
Raven Trail - proficient riders only!
In contrast, the Derwen Trail is the starting point for families and novices and a great introduction to mountain biking.
All trails show off Brechfa Forest at its best.

Aberglasney gardens and house
Spectacularly set in the beautiful Tywi valley of Carmarthenshire, Aberglasney House features one of the finest gardens in Wales. Aberglasney Gardens have been an inspiration to poets since 1477. The story of Aberglasney spans many centuries, but, the house's origins are still shrouded in obscurity.

Gelli Aur ( Golden Grove) Country Park, Llandeilo
Gelli Aur is a Country Park with 60 acres of wooded parkland surrounding a magnificent mansion. With commanding views across the beautiful Towy Valley, Gelli Aur was once the home of the Vaughan and Cawdor families.
'Golden Grove is well worth a look, it has a Magnificent Mansion that looks like something you would find in Scotland! Just a shame they don't allow you to go in! But they have a beautiful nature walk, Deer and if you would like refreshments they have the lovely Gelli Aur Tea Rooms. Also, if you love your trees and shrubs Gelli Aur boasts The arboretum, or tree collection, it is 10 acres of mature trees and shrubs. The arboretum was planted in the 1860's by the Cawdor's head gardener, William Hill. Mature trees include Giant Redwood, Monterey Pine and Fern-Leaved Beech.
CARREG CENNEN CASTLE & FARM
Carreg Cennen Castle & Farm is Situated in 1 mile north east of Trapp, just 4 miles from Llandeilo in Carmartheshire, on the western fringe of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The Castle, Wedding venue, Tea Rooms and Craft Shop are open 364 days a year, yes that's right we only have Christmas Day off!

Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Laugharne.
Dylan Thomas was one of the greatest writers from Wales and a giant in the 20th century.
Dylan Thomas was born in Swansea but his family roots were in Carmarthenshire and it was this county that provided him with a constant source of inspiration.
He lived at the Boathouse for the last four years of his life during which time many major pieces of work were written.

Gwilli railway, Bronwydd, Carmarthen.
The volunteer run Gwili Steam Railway, is the only steam standard gauge railway operating in South West Wales
The first train ran at Easter 1978 using one coach pulled by a
Peckett 0-4-0 called Merlin, Since then it has developed into one
of the principle tourist attractions in Carmarthenshire

Kidwelly castle and Sites
Within the Town, the Medieval castle; the historic and beautiful St Mary’s Church on Lady Street; Kymer’s Canal, the first canal to be built in Wales; Kidwelly Quay with its wide variety of wildlife and Glan yr Afon Nature Reserve with its abundant bird life, flora and fauna.

Llansteffan Castle
The village of Llansteffan ("the church of Stephen") is a small but lovely spot, nestled between the sandy shores of the Tywi estuary and the lush green rolling hills of the Welsh countryside. In some respects, it is an unexpected oasis along the coast in West Wales. Located just 8 miles southwest of Carmarthen, the most remarkable monument in the village is its magnificently ruined castle.

'This is a beautiful walk and one which is very popular with dog walkers, We have taken Tyler and Lofty here many times and they love the freedom it enables them, there are many different trails and paths that you can choose, from woodland, with streams to open fields ;-)'

Pembrey Country Park
People visit Pembrey Country Park for many different reasons, some to enjoy the freedom to wander around 202 hectares of glorious parkland and some to take advantage of one of the cleanest beaches in Wales
'Again we come here quite often, Pembrey is only 10 mins from our house. It is great for kids, adults and walking the dogs. This web link does it no justice! At Pembrey you have Horse riding, Dry skiing, a Bob sleigh, 202 acres of woodland and beach. There is a camp site and caravan site, golf, restaurant and cafes, the beach is one of if not the cleanest in Wales, with one side for people and one side especially for dogs that is all year round! Our dogs love Pembrey as you can see on our dogs page!'
